In light of the previous contact between the same two players when the red player knocked the white player down contesting a head ball, the white player seems like he deliberately flung his right elbow out to meet the incoming red player (his other elbow did not make a similar move and this move was not part of him going for the ball). I would eject the white player for serious foul play, and would have stopped play a bit quicker due to the head injury. The foul occurred right in front of the referee so he should have seen its deliberateness. Sent by: JK
Lamela and Monreal tangle at midfield as the video starts. Montreal appears to swing an arm, and Lamela goes down. When he gets back on his feet, Lamela looks to the ball in the air, then to Monreal, and as Monreal approaches Lamela deliberately elbows him in the face (no one jumps in the air by throwing an arm sideways, and besides, Lamela is so far off the ball it’s clearly not his objective). This could be construed as SFP, but I’d caution Lamela for UB. Atkinson was right to stop play. Restart is an IDFK for Arsenal. Sent by: CW
With the benefit of seeing it 5 times and in slow motion: tool, arm used to "establish territory," caution to White #11, free kick for Red. Sent by: TG
We have afoul by the white jersey player. Evenso not deliberate. Indirect kick is awarded at place of collision. No card. Francois
