Law 1: Anchored Goals

Law 1: "Goals must be anchored securely to the ground. Portable goals may only be used if they satisfy this requirement".

"The potential for accidents from unsafe soccer goals is substantial. The U.S. Youth Soccer Program estimates that 14 million children play soccer each year. From 1979 to 2008,  there have been 39 deaths and 56 injuries from soccer goals that have tipped over. Hundreds more have been injured."

Soccer goals are suppose to be anchored to the ground and checked by coaches and referees. But often that safety measure is overlooked, which can lead to injury or even death.
